I know everyone has the classic snap of canoeing on Lake Louise, the glacier blue water is pretty much the face of Canada. But don’t let that limit you! This lake has more to offer than just a canoe ride! Again, maybe a bias opinion, but the lake in the winter is even better! Romantic, charming, and extremely Canadian.
The snow gets plowed out and a huge skating rink is formed! Maintained by the Fairmount, they offer skate rentals, snow shoes, cross country ski’s and delicious hot chocolate to warm you up after a long day in the crisp mountain air!
If your a hockey player, don’t leave your stick and puck behind! You’ll always be invited to an open game of shimmy of all skill levels. See, I told you, even more Canadian!
If your not a skater, there’s always a beautiful display of ice sculptures and a horse and buggy tour that will take you around the lake. There’s a few trails open to snow shoe/cross country ski, there well maintained and lots of signage to keep you on the right trail.
This is something that can not be skipped. If your in the area, check it out!
